- For General Teacher (Level-1):
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE 2002 Regulations).
- OR Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- OR Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Mandatory: Must have qualified REET Level-1 Exam.
- For Sanskrit Teacher (Level-1):
Varishtha Upadhyaya (or equivalent traditional Sanskrit exam) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. - OR Varishtha Upadhyaya with 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE 2002).
- OR Shastri with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
